Forget gas! Nissan EVs use electricity stored in rechargeable high-voltage batteries to power an electric motor. The motor converts this electric energy into mechanical power that moves the wheels and allows the vehicle to operate.

TAMA

Back in 1947, we developed the TAMA, our first-ever EV. A compact 4-door sedan followed in ’49. Even then, we knew were on to something with electric vehicles, and we’ve never looked back.

Hypermini

After a few decades of EV innovation, Japanese drivers got a chance to take a spin in the ultra-compact, ultra-amazing Hypermini. Released in 2000, this fun commuter-for-two had a top speed of 100 kph and could go 115 kilometers on a single charge.

LEAF

In 2010, LEAF thrilled the world! The first mass-market, mass-produced electric vehicle, LEAF owners have driven over 5-billion EV miles globally with over half a million LEAF vehicles sold around the world.[[3539]][[3543]]

In 2018, we introduced the new LEAF. Sleek, powerful and more awesome than ever, this next-gen LEAF re-set the EV standard for a whole new generation of electric driving.
